Friday, 22th April

The day of the Religious members of the Parish and Vocations day.

A good attendance during mass listening to the homily.

The homily being preached in the traditional balcony, known in Maltese as 'pulptu'.

The celebrants of mass representing the priests and the two religious communities in Floriana, the Jesuits and the Capuchin Friars.

After mass and Eucharistic Blessing the traditional procession with this statue of St. Publius, accompanied by the Vilhena Band, was carried out through the streets of Floriana.

Sunday, 24th April

The Soċjeta Mużikali tal-Karmnu Band of Fgura tunes the first notes of the hymn dedicated to St. Publius, only a few moments before the procession comes out of the church.

The procession starts its route at around 6.45pm.

The statue of St. Publius held high on the shoulders of Florianites, duly earning the beloved saint respect and admiration from the patrons.

The moment most Florianites await... Saint Publius rests for a few minutes under the arc in one of the streets of the suburb.

Exhibitions in Floriana during the Festa period

A number of exhibitions are organised in Floriana during the week of the feast. These are some photos showing the beautiful work and talent of some of our citizens.
